Founded in Hawai’i in 1985, Oceanit is a “Mind to Market” company that creates disruptive technology from fundamental science. We remain headquartered in Honolulu, Hawai’i, and from our island home, we practice the unique discipline of Intellectual Anarchy. We reimagine innovation to break the bonds of normal and solve the impossible — delivering technologies to the market that impact humans and society.
The Oceanit Ohana works together as an extended family, both in and outside of the office. It is our commitment to be positive corporate citizens and active members of the communities in which we live and work.
Innovating for the global community is an important part of our work, but so is actively participating in our local communities. Oceanit believes that access to education, connectivity, and technology is a necessity in today’s world, and we dedicate time to building initiatives and supporting students and community efforts to empower education and imagination around Hawaii.
The global COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, and the cultural, economic, and social impacts that it precipitated were unprecedented in our lifetimes and made contributing to our community all the more important. While in-person events went virtual and social distance became the norm, Oceanit and our Ohana strove to continue making impactful contributions in our communities.
We rebuilt the Oceanit Research Foundation to advance many of these education and imagination goals. The Oceanit Research Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization focused on positively impacting our community—and all of humanity—through lifelong learning, innovative curriculum, community outreach, and STEM missions that benefit all students – young and old.
We continued our work to build a broader technology industry in Hawai’i by coaching teachers and students in robotics, science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) programs, while also participating and supporting foundations, charities, and events that are close to our hearts.
Oceanit is committed to providing support for humanitarian organizations to help further scientific research, rebuild affected communities, and assist families in need. From groundbreaking projects and research, to sustainable activities in our communities, Oceanit and its employees have participated in fundraisers, donation drives, community activities, job fairs, and much more. Additionally, Oceanit has provided a sustainable working atmosphere by developing products and technologies that are eco-friendly and implementing business practices that could help reduce and manage our own environmental impact and risks.
